Co-Editor: John Stran
John Stran is editor-in-chief of YO Magazine. He will be graduating in the spring of 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in sociology. Aside from reporting, Stran is a general assignment reporter for The Jambar, an at-large member of the Youngstown Press Club, a member of the student communication honorary organization Lambda Pi Eta, a part of the Society for Collegiate Journalists and a contributing writer for Metro Monthly magazine. Stran plans to expand his college career by going for a master’s degree in journalism, more specifically magazine writing. His career aspirations include creating his own web and print based magazine along with becoming a documentarian.
Co-Editor: Frances Clause
Frances Clause is a senior journalism major and music minor at YSU. She currently works for YO Magazine as the managing editor and The Jambar as a general news reporter. Some organizations she is proud to be a member of include YSU’s Student Government Association as a College of Creative Arts and Communication representative, Sigma Alpha Iota, the Society of Collegiate Journalists, and the Dana Double Reed Society. When she isn’t writing or playing bassoon, you are likely to find Clause at one of the many coffee shops on campus. She also has a burning passion for sushi and soba noodles. Her goals for the future include inspiring others through arts and entertainment reporting and playing bassoon in ensembles.
Lead Web / Print Designer
Sarah Dooley is a senior Professional and Technical Writing major at Youngstown State University with focus areas in web and print design. She works for YO Magazine as the lead web and print designer. She also works in both the Youngstown State Writing Center as a writing consultant and IT Services as a technical writer on campus. Some organizations she is proud to be a member of include Presidential Mentors, Alpha Xi Delta: Theta Upsilon, and Sigma Alpha Lambda Honor Society. She enjoys writing, designing, and traveling the world with her feline friends. Her goals for the future include attending graduate school in Colorado and working to become a User Experience Designer.
